Selection Policy for Team Hong Kong 2026
二零二六年香港隊遴選政策及規則
Eligibility
代表資格
1. Age requirement 年齡要求
To be eligible for playing for Hong Kong, one must be at least 18 years old by 31 August 2026.
各香港隊隊員須於 2026年8月31日或之前年滿 18 歲。
2. Additional requirement 額外要求
To be eligible for playing for Hong Kong, one must also satisfy at least one of the following:
各香港隊隊員亦須符合以下至少一項要求：
- be a Chinese national holding or eligible to hold a passport as defined
in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Passports Ordinance (Cap. 539), Laws of Hong Kong
為中國公民並持有或有權持有香港法例第539章 《香港特別行政區護照條例》下所指的護照; - is a Hong Kong permanent resident as defined in the Immigration Ordinance (Cap. 115), Laws of Hong Kong
為香港法例第115章《入境條例》下所指之香港永久性居民; - was born in Hong Kong
在香港出生; - has validly and continuously resided in Hong Kong (not as a tourist) for at least three months immediately before the date of the tournament (excluding any short period of absence during which the player travelled overseas with no intention to reside there)
在2026年9月26日前的3個月合法（並非以遊客身分）在香港居住，即使曾短暫離港，但並無意欲在海外定居（如到海外旅遊）; - has played quadball only in Hong Kong in his or her or their lifetime and has not ever played quadball in any other place
只曾在香港參與魁地奇運動，且一生從未在其他地方參與魁地奇運動; - has played quadball in Hong Kong with a club or team recognised by the Association for a continuous period of at least eight months immediately
before the date of the tournament
在2026年9月26日前的8個月為獲香港魁地奇總會承認的球會或隊伍的球員並在香港參與訓練或比賽; - has at least one parent or grandparent who is a Chinese national
holding or eligible to hold a passport as defined in the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region Passports Ordinance (Cap. 539), Laws of Hong Kong
父親、母親、祖父或祖母（任何一位）是中國公民並持有或有權持有香港法例第539章 《香港特別行政區護照條例》下所指的護照; - has at least one parent who was born in Hong Kong

Selection Process and Player Classification
遴選過程及球員分類
The Team Hong Kong 2026 Commission (the Commission), chaired by the Sports Director, will be solely responsible for the selection based on the players’ ability, availability for pre-tournament trainings in Hong Kong and other factors deemed relevant. The Commission will select a team complying with all the aforementioned criteria regarding eligibility and composition. The Commission's decision shall be final.
Interested individuals should confirm their availability for the tournament(s) before applying. Players are expected to cover the expenses incurred in relation to the tournament(s) themselves, including their share of registration fees, travel costs, and costs for sports equipment and jerseys. Players’ availability for the tournament(s) should not be contingent on sponsorships available.
Applicants will be given equal opportunities regardless of their race, religion, beliefs, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation. Selected players, depending on their quadball experience, fitness, skills, and level of commitment, will be classified as (1) Stable Players, (2) Developing Players, or (3) Supporting Players.
二零二六年香港隊委員會(下稱「委員會」)由體育總監擔任主席，專責按照球員能力、賽前訓練出席率以及其他相關因素選拔符合資格及要求的球員為香港隊成員。委員會之決定乃最終決定。
有意報名人士需在報名前事先確認能否出席有關賽事。所有入選球員需自費安排比賽各項開支，包括但不限於：往返比賽地點機票、比賽隊伍參賽費 (由全隊各隊員分擔) 、訓練用品及香港隊球衣及球褲。球員不應以本會能否提供贊助為參賽考慮。
所有申請皆按照公平原則處理。所有入選球員將按照本身魁地奇比賽經驗、體能、球技以及參與程度，分類為 (1) 正選球員； (2) 發展球員；以及 (3) 支援球員。
